Beginning with good questions

A text deserves more than a quick answer. Asking who is speaking, who is listening and what surrounds a passage can open a richer conversation with its meaning.

Curiosity helps us pause before assuming that familiar words always mean the same thing. Reading with others can also make us aware of questions and experiences we have overlooked.
